1/08: Sclerosing Sweat Duct Carcinoma in a 6-year old African American Child authored by Dr. Poole and colleagues is published in Pediatric Dermatology Jan/Feb 2008, vol. 25 no. 1, pp 38-42.
7/07: Dr. Poole named Chief of Pediatric Dermatology, Children's Hospital, New Orleans.
6/07: Dr. Poole was elected President of the Louisiana Dermatologic Society for academic year 2008-2009. This society is the pre-eminent body of dermatology professionals in Louisiana, with its focus on education, patient care, and advancement of public awareness for diseases of the skin, hair and nails.

1/07: Poole Dermatology office expansion. Due to increasing patient demand, our office recently doubled the size of it's waiting room to more comfortably accomodate patients before their appointment times.
10/06: "Infectious Diseases- Emergency Department Diagnosis and Management" is published by McGraw Hill Medical, with chapter 26 (Viral Exanthems) authored by Dr. Poole.
6/06: Dr. Poole is the guest lecturer for the Acadian Pediatric Society in Lafayette. He lectures on "Hemangiomas, Port Wine Stains, and other Vascular Anomalies".
6/06: Dr. Poole is interviewed by Chris Fairbairn of Channel 4 news about the Children's Hospital Vascular Anomalies Center.
5/06: Poole Dermatology takes part in the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery's "Skin Cancer Awareness Month". Over 60 appointments slots are dedicated to free community skin cancer screening exams.
3/06: Dr. Poole is enlisted by Tulane University to become an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Pediatric and Adolescent Specialist. Tulane Dermatology Resident's begin rotating with him at Children's Hospital.
2/06: Dr. Poole and Ernie Chiu, MD, reopen the Children's Vascular Anomalies Center for the first time after Hurricane Katrina.
11/05: Poole Dermatology fully re-opens it Metairie office after Hurricane Katrina.
10/05: "Current Management of Congenital Nevi" published in Pediatric Review, with Dr. Poole as a co-author.
>10/05: After Hurricane Katrina, Poole Dermatology is one of the first Dermatology offices to open on the Eastbank. Temporary location at Children's Hospital, Metairie.
9/05: Dr. Poole maintains contact with all his patients after Hurricane Katrina by cell phone or email, helping to ensure continuity of care.
9/05: Dr. Poole traveled to Peru's Amazon river basin to help the villagers of Lagunas as part of a medical mission. Over 1500 patients were seen and tens of thousands of dollars of free medicine and glasses were distributed over 5 days.
12/04: Dr. Poole was recently named Co-Director of the Vascular Anomalies Clinic at Children’s Hospital – New Orleans. This Clinic will use a multi-specialty approach to address children with significant vascular disorders such as- hemangiomas, port wine stains, arterio-venous malformations, lymphatic malformations, Sturge- Weber Syndrome, and Klippel-Trenauny-Weber Syndrome. The team consists of Dermatologist, plastic surgeon, ENT, neurologist, hematology/ oncology, orthopedist, oculo-plastic surgeons, radioligist, occupational and physical therapist, and social workers to address the full spectrum of problems these children encounter.
10/04: Dr. Poole co-authored the Clinical case of the month (3-Year-Old Boy Presenting with Hand Rash) in the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society Vol. 156, No.5 pp 235-240.
10/04: Dr. Poole was the guest speaker in Lafayette, LA for the Acadian Pediatric Society and Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. The topic was Pediatric Dermatology Pearls.
9/04: Dr. Poole was the guest speaker for the Greater New Orleans Pediatric Society on topics of pediatric dermatology.
6/04: Dr. Poole attends the Annual Meeting of the Society of Pediatric Dermatology in Charleston, SC. This 4 day meeting brings together the international leaders in pediatric dermatology for intensive continuing medical education.
5/04: During the American Academy of Dermatology’s annual Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Poole volunteers 4 days to free community screening, as much or more than any other dermatologist in the New Orleans Metro area. Hundreds of patients receive free skin examinations.
